Hey there! The world is buzzing with anticipation over Meghan Markle's pregnancy. Ever since the Duchess of Sussex announced she's expecting her first child with Prince Harry, everyone's been on the edge of their seats, waiting for any hints about whether it's a boy or a girl. As of now, Meghan, who’s 37, has shared that she’s six months along and is due to deliver in late April. But the big question remains: Is it a baby girl or a baby boy?
Luckily for us, an Australian website called My Body + Soul had a chat with midwife Amanda Bude from Groovy Babies. She shared an intriguing old wives' tale that might help us guess the gender of Baby Sussex. All we need to do is take a closer look at the shape of Meghan's growing baby bump. Fascinating, right?
According to this old wives' tale, if a woman's weight gain is concentrated around her abdomen and she appears to be carrying the baby "wide and low," then it might be a girl. On the other hand, if the bump is "high and pointy," it could be a boy. Sounds pretty straightforward, doesn't it? However, Amanda Bude was quick to point out that there’s no scientific research backing up this theory. So, take it with a grain of salt, folks.

When we look at Kate Middleton's three pregnancies with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, her baby bumps looked pretty similar each time. This suggests that a woman's natural body shape might have more influence on the appearance of her bump than the gender of the baby. As Bude puts it, "Everyone’s body is as unique as a fingerprint." That's something to keep in mind as we analyze Meghan's bump!
While we patiently wait for Meghan to give birth this spring, we do know that Prince Harry has expressed a preference for a little girl. Isn’t that adorable? But no matter the gender, this little royal addition is sure to bring joy to the family and fans around the world.
