Get Ready For A Fresh Take On Charlie's Angels!

Hey there, fellow movie buffs! Let me tell you something exciting about the upcoming reboot of Charlie's Angels. Yes, you heard it right—Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska are stepping into the iconic roles for the big screen next year. Now, if you're familiar with the original 1976-81 television series, you know the drill: three fearless women, assignments handed out by the mysterious Charlie through an intercom, and a trusty Bosley guiding them through their missions. But guess what? This time around, things are about to get a little more global and a lot more dynamic.

Over the years, we’ve seen the Angels in different forms. From the classic TV series featuring Farrah Fawcett, Jaclyn Smith, Kate Jackson, and Cheryl Ladd, to the blockbuster films starring Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, and Cameron Diaz, and even the largely forgotten 2011 TV reboot. But now, we’re stepping into a fresh chapter with a twist that’s sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats.

    What's New in This Version?

Elizabeth Banks, the brilliant mind behind this reboot, isn’t just directing and co-writing the script—she’s also stepping into the role of Bosley. And yes, she’s the one who celebrated the end of filming with that Instagram post. In this version, the Angels are part of a global security and intelligence service. That’s right, teams of Angels are stationed all over the world, each led by a different Bosley. And if you’re wondering who these Bosleys are, let me tell you: we’ve got none other than Patrick Stewart (yes, Captain Picard himself) and Djimon Hounsou taking on the role.

    How Elizabeth Banks Got Involved

Now, let’s talk about how Elizabeth Banks became the mastermind behind this reboot. She shared her story with The Hollywood Reporter: “It was just a casual mention during a meeting at Sony, like, ‘Hey, we’d love you to do something with Charlie’s Angels.’ I went home and, like many creative people, I let it simmer. I dreamed about it, visualized it, and let ideas grow. I felt like I had a fresh take, so I pitched it, and they loved it.”

Elizabeth also opened up about her journey as a director: “Directing has always been a dream of mine. I started directing plays in college, and I’ve always been that annoying actor who hangs out at the video village watching dailies. I’ve worked on over 65 sets, and each one has been a learning experience. Whether it’s TV or film, I thrive on challenges. With Charlie’s Angels, I get to dive into action and visual effects, and I loved the challenge of making a movie musical with Pitch Perfect. That’s no small feat, and I enjoy the constant push to do better.”
