Isn’t that the kind of love story we all dream about? On Monday, December 17, Ina, now 70, took to Instagram to share a sweet throwback photo of her and Jeffrey, who’s 72, from their honeymoon. This post was to celebrate their upcoming golden 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, December 22. In her caption, Ina wrote, “Instead of celebrating our 50th Anniversary (yikes!) just on the day (this coming Saturday), Jeffrey and I decided to celebrate it all week long! So I’m starting with a photograph of Jeffrey and me leaving our wedding for our honeymoon, tennis racquets in hand. It’s been an amazing 50 years!!! #LoveOfMyLife.”

How Love Blossomed Over 50 Years
In a recent chat with People, Ina opened up about her incredible 50-year marriage to Jeffrey and shared how their love story unfolded. “He’s just the best friend anybody could ever have,” Ina gushed about her husband. Their story begins way back in 1953 when Ina, just 15 at the time, met Jeffrey while visiting her brother at Dartmouth College, where Jeffrey was a student. Ina fondly recalled the moment Jeffrey saw her on the street and sent her a letter with his photo. “I just remember running through the house and going, ‘Mom, Mom, you’ve got to see this picture of this guy. He’s so cute!’”
Life took them in different directions for a while when Jeffrey was deployed to Thailand with the Army. But even miles apart, they stayed connected through letters. Jeffrey shared, “I wrote to Ina every single day. During the whole year I was only able to call her once.” When asked what made Jeffrey "The One," Ina revealed, “He just thought I was really smart and that I could do anything. He was the first person I knew who thought that about me.” That kind of belief and support? Pure gold, folks. Here’s to 50 amazing years for Ina and Jeffrey!
