Hey there, friends! Let’s talk about a bit of a twist in the royal holiday plans. Just hours after Kensington Palace announced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be joining Prince William and Kate Middleton at Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham Estate for Christmas, we’ve learned something surprising. Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, won’t be there this year on December 25. That’s a real bummer for fans who were hoping for a full family gathering.
Now, you might be wondering, why isn’t Doria part of the festivities? According to a royal source speaking with Us Weekly on December 17, it seems Doria wasn’t formally invited to this year’s Christmas celebration. The source mentioned, “She is, of course, welcome at Sandringham, but wasn’t formally invited for this Christmas.”
Back in early November, there was talk about Queen Elizabeth, who is 92, possibly extending an invitation to Doria. This was described as a “very thoughtful gesture.” An insider shared that the Queen respects Meghan and recognizes that she doesn’t have much family in the UK. Meanwhile, Kate Middleton has a close-knit family nearby. It’s a subtle nod to the different family dynamics between Meghan and Kate.

So, while the Queen’s intentions were good, it seems Doria won’t be making the trip this time. Still, I’m sure Meghan, Harry, Kate, and William will have a blast at Sandringham this Christmas. And hey, the little ones are coming too!
Prince George, who’s 5, Princess Charlotte, who’s 3, and baby Prince Louis, who’s just 8 months old, will be there. Recently, Kate Middleton mentioned that her two eldest kids are getting super excited for Christmas. When a fan asked about George and Charlotte, Kate sweetly replied, “They’re doing well, thank you. They’re getting excited for Christmastime because they’ve started all their Christmas songs and Christmas trees are going up.”
Kate also mentioned how quickly her youngest, Louis, is growing. She said, “Louis is getting bigger, I can’t believe he’s like seven months now. He’s a big boy.” It’s always fun hearing about the little ones and imagining what kind of gifts they might get from Santa. I’m sure they’ll have a blast unwrapping their presents on Christmas Day.
