Chip And Joanna Gaines: Life After Fixer Upper

Chip And Joanna Gaines: Life After Fixer Upper

After five incredible seasons of transforming homes and lives, HGTV's beloved show Fixer Upper came to an end, leaving fans wondering what's next for Chip and Joanna Gaines. The couple, who became household names thanks to their charm and incredible design skills, aren't exactly rushing back into the spotlight anytime soon. But don't worry, they're still busy building something special—just not in front of the cameras.

Keeping It Low-Key: The Gaines' Post-Fixer Upper Life

For those of us who grew up watching Chip and Joanna Gaines renovate houses and win hearts on HGTV’s Fixer Upper, their absence from the screen might feel like a void. But according to Jimmy Don Holmes from JDH Iron Designs, who worked closely with the couple during their time on the show, the Gaines family has no plans to jump back into the limelight anytime soon. "They’re laying low and staying low-key," Jimmy told Closer Weekly. "I saw them drive by this morning. They tend to stop by the Magnolia Headquarters occasionally and deal with their businesses in Waco, Texas. But they don't visit the headquarters too often because they spend most of their time tending to family matters and enjoying life at home."

The Next Chapter: A New Cable Network?

While Chip and Joanna announced last November that they plan to launch their own cable network in the future, it seems they're not in any hurry to make it happen. "There haven’t been camera crews in town," Jimmy revealed. "As far as I know, there’s no filming going on right now. I usually know things, and as of right now, I do not know when they’re launching their network." Despite this, Jimmy remains optimistic about working with the couple again. "I’m always doing new projects for them for the Magnolia Market. I’m going to have a second showroom in the spring. We’re selling out of a fancy trailer at the moment and have a pop-up shop. If the Gaineses were to ask me to have a show on their network, I’d jump right on it and have fun with it. But I’m not going to ask for it," he added with a laugh.

It’s no secret that Chip and Joanna are putting family first these days. After all, they’ve always been vocal about how important their children are to them. With five kids—Drake, 13, Ella, 11, Duke, 9, Emmie Kay, 8, and baby Crew, who’s just seven months old—it’s easy to see why they’re choosing to stay grounded. Jimmy shared his admiration for the couple’s parenting style. "They’re amazing as parents—just like his parents and her parents," he said. "They’re so good with the kids! I feel like a better person because I got to know the Gaines and their parents—they’re all kind people."

Though they may be laying low for now, one thing’s for sure: when Chip and Joanna decide to return to television, there will be millions of fans ready and waiting to tune in. Until then, we can all enjoy the legacy they’ve already built—one beautifully restored home at a time.
