Kate Hudson Opens Up About Joining WW And Her Personal Wellness Journey

Back on December 17, 2018, Kate Hudson made headlines when she announced she’d be stepping into a new role as an ambassador for WW, formerly known as Weight Watchers. It was a move that sparked a lot of conversation, with opinions flying in from all directions. Now, the actress is taking the time to address the critics and explain her decision in her own words.

Fast forward to January 10, 2019, and Kate appeared on the Today show to share her thoughts and motivations behind her partnership with WW. At 39 years old, she made it clear that her personal wellness journey isn’t about shedding pounds—it’s about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and staying mentally balanced. “My struggle isn’t about losing weight,” she explained candidly. “It’s about staying healthy, focused, and balanced in this fast-paced world we live in. The new vision of WW isn’t just about numbers on a scale; it’s about overall wellness. To me, it’s all about finding support and motivation. Everyone’s looking for ways to stay inspired, and that’s exactly what WW offers.”

WW: More Than Just a Diet

Kate didn’t stop there. She went on to clarify exactly what WW represents in today’s world. “It’s not just about counting points or following a strict diet,” she emphasized. “It’s a community where people can come together and deepen their understanding of health—holistically. It’s about asking the big questions: Where do we turn when we want to practice mindfulness? Where do we go when we slip up and need a helping hand to get back on track? WW isn’t a diet—it’s a complete lifestyle shift.”

  • For those who might be skeptical, Kate added, “You don’t have to fit into a specific mold to be a part of this community. Whether you’re following the Mediterranean diet, living as a vegan, or exploring any other path, there’s room for everyone. It’s a fun and inclusive space where you can connect with others who are on their own wellness journeys.”

Kate's Personal Journey and Future Plans

On a more personal note, Kate took to Instagram in November to share her goal of losing 25 pounds after welcoming her daughter, Rani Rose, into the world. However, during the interview, she revealed something surprising: she might not be done expanding her family just yet. Her boyfriend, Danny Fujikawa, has expressed a desire for another child, which has Kate reconsidering her plans.

“I always thought I’d have four to six kids,” she laughed. “Then I thought, ‘Maybe I’m done.’ But then I met Danny, and I thought, ‘Alright, let’s make this happen for him.’ If everything aligns, it could be the next chapter. He really wants a boy, so we’ll see what the universe has in store for us.”

Beyond Rani, Kate is already a proud mom to two other children: Ryder, her 15-year-old son with ex-husband Chris Robinson, and Bingham, her 7-year-old son with Muse frontman Matt Bellamy. Balancing motherhood, career, and personal wellness is clearly a priority for Kate, and her partnership with WW seems to reflect that commitment.
