Meet Princess Madeleine, a true modern-day renaissance woman. She's not just a member of Sweden's royal family—she's also an accomplished author. In a world where fairy tales often feel distant, Princess Madeleine is writing her own. This is a story that goes beyond charming illustrations—it carries a profound message about self-empowerment and courage.
In a heartfelt caption, Princess Madeleine shared her motivation for writing the book. She explained, “I’m very excited to finally share with you a book which will hopefully show children how important it is to stand up for themselves and to tell someone when something doesn’t feel right.” Her voice resonates with authenticity, and her words carry the weight of someone who truly cares. Princess Madeleine didn't just wake up one morning with the idea for this book. Back in February 2017, during an interview with Swedish media outlet Expressen, she hinted at her aspirations. "At the moment, I can only say that it will be fun," she said with a mischievous smile. That little tease sparked curiosity among her fans, and now, here we are, witnessing the fruition of her creative endeavor.
The inspiration for Stella and the Secret comes straight from Princess Madeleine's family heritage. Her mother, Queen Silvia, founded the World Childhood Foundation in 1999. This organization fights tirelessly for the rights of neglected, abandoned, or abused children. Madeleine, following in her mother’s footsteps, co-founded the ThankYou initiative, which aims to prevent the sexual abuse and exploitation of children. It’s clear that her passion for children’s welfare runs deep, and this book is a testament to that commitment.
In August, Princess Madeleine and her husband, Chris O’Neill, announced their decision to relocate from Sweden to Florida. Alongside their three children—Princess Leonore, 4, Prince Nicolas, 3, and Princess Adrienne, 10 months—they embarked on a new chapter in their lives. Despite the distance from Europe, Madeleine remains deeply committed to her work with the World Childhood Foundation. In October, she even joined her mother, Queen Silvia, in New York City for the World Childhood Foundation USA 2018 Thank You Gala, proving that distance doesn't diminish her dedication.
“Princess Madeleine has a great commitment to children’s rights and will continue working with the World Childhood Foundation. Through the move, she will be able to focus more on the activities in the United States,” the Swedish Royal Court stated, emphasizing her unwavering dedication to her cause.
