It seems like Meghan Markle’s royal baby is coming along fast! While the baby isn’t expected to arrive until spring 2019, the Duchess of Sussex is already embracing her pregnancy journey. During a visit to the Royal Variety Charity on December 18, Meghan opened up about how she's feeling. While chatting with retired West End theatre actress Josephine Gordon, the expectant mom revealed she's feeling "very good," but also admitted she felt "very pregnant today." It’s moments like these that remind us how real and relatable Meghan is, even as a member of the royal family.
Throughout her pregnancy, Meghan has been seen cradling her baby bump on numerous occasions, and honestly, it’s just the cutest thing ever. Some critics have questioned this gesture, but Georgia Rose from Village Maternity in NYC told People that it's completely natural. "When mothers hold their tummies, it's a beautiful thing," Rose explained. "It's something they do instinctively and naturally." It’s a reminder that Meghan is not just a duchess—she’s a mom-to-be who's navigating this exciting chapter just like any other expectant mother.

Meghan, 37, attended the Royal Variety Charity event, where she got a tour of the facilities and even joined in on some festive activities. The former Suits star made crafts and listened to classic Christmas carols, truly embracing the holiday spirit. This outing marked Meghan's last public appearance before the Christmas break, making it all the more special. As she prepares for the holiday season, Meghan and Prince Harry, 34, will celebrate with Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the royal family at an annual lunch party at Buckingham Palace. Afterward, the couple will head to Norfolk for Christmas celebrations at Sandringham.
There’s been a lot of buzz about whether Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, will join her for the holidays. While there were initial reports that Doria would fly in to spend time with her daughter, it seems she won’t be attending the festivities at Sandringham this year. Kensington Palace confirmed that Harry and Meghan will spend Christmas with Prince William and Kate Middleton at Elizabeth’s Sandringham Estate. Despite this, a royal source reassured Us Weekly that Doria is always welcome. "It’s a mark of the Queen’s respect for Meghan and an acknowledgment that she doesn’t have any other relations in this country," the source explained. Although Doria may not be at Sandringham, we’re sure she’ll play a big role once the royal baby arrives!
While it’s disappointing that Doria won’t be at Sandringham, it’s important to remember that she’ll still be a key part of Meghan and Harry’s lives, especially once the baby arrives. After all, grandmas are the unsung heroes of every family, and we’re sure Doria will be front and center for all the baby milestones.
