They were Penny’s pride and joy, and I love them dearly,” he said. Penny leaves behind her second ex-husband, actor Rob Reiner, their daughter Tracy Reiner, and five cherished grandchildren. Her family’s love and admiration for her continue to shine brightly, even in her absence.
Penny’s sister, Ronny Marshall Hallin, revealed the touching details of Penny’s final moments. “She was ready,” Ronny, 80, told Page Six the day after Penny’s passing. “She always said, ‘I had a great life.’ Penny was extraordinary—I loved her deeply.”
In Penny’s obituary, her family beautifully summarized her life and legacy. “Penny was a tomboy who loved sports, puzzles, drinking milk and Pepsi together, and most importantly, being with her family. She started as a girl from the Bronx, put a cursive ‘L’ on her sweater, and transformed herself into a Hollywood success story. We hope her life continues to inspire others to cherish their families, work hard, and make all their dreams come true.”
