According to a recent report from Us Weekly, she’s completely cut ties with her dad because of what sources describe as his "betrayal." Can you blame her?

Why the Silence?

The sources close to the situation paint a pretty clear picture. "It keeps getting worse and worse, he won’t stop. It’s shocking," one insider said. Another added, "The best thing he could have done since the day it all fell apart would have been to step back and stay silent, but he's done everything but that." The source went on to say, "There is no relationship change. Any other interviews he does are just an eye roll." It seems Meghan and Prince Harry have moved on, and Thomas’s actions may have only widened the gap between them.

Thomas's Persistent Efforts

Just last week, Thomas sat down for yet another interview, this time with the Daily Mail, to give an update on his attempts to reconnect with Meghan. He revealed that he's even reached out to his ex-wife, Doria Ragland, for advice. "I’ve pleaded with her to pick up the phone," the 74-year-old shared. "I wrote her a two-page letter and sent it by certified mail via her representative in LA. I asked her why she was believing the lies. I even hand-delivered a letter to Doria asking her why our daughter won’t speak to me."

Thomas didn’t stop there. He confessed, "I’ve sent several texts. Her number hasn’t changed and they haven’t bounced back." Adding to his frustration, he said, "I have been frozen out and I can’t stay silent. I have made dozens of attempts to reach my daughter via text and letters, but she and Harry have put up a wall of silence." It’s clear that Thomas feels deeply hurt by the lack of response, but it seems his actions may have contributed to the current stalemate.

Hope for the Holidays?

Previous reports suggested that Thomas was hoping for a Christmas miracle. "Thomas is praying Meghan will give him one last chance this holiday season," a source told Grazia. The source added, "He’s clinging to the fact that Christmas was such a special time for them growing up, and hoping against hope that her heart will soften and she’ll at least pick up the phone and patch things up." However, as the holiday season fades into the new year, it seems like Thomas may be hoping for more than the season can deliver.
