Bruce Willis And Emma Heming Willis: Saying Goodbye To NYC And Hello To LA

Hey there! It’s time for a big move for Hollywood power couple Bruce Willis and Emma Heming Willis. The iconic actor and his wife are leaving their sprawling estate in Bedford Corners, New York, and heading to the sunny skies of California. In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, Willis, who’s now 63, explained the decision. “We’re letting this place go because we’ve been too far from our family in California. It’s time for us to head back to the West Coast and make it our new home,” he said. This isn’t just any move—it’s a lifestyle shift that brings them closer to family and the heart of Hollywood.

Why the Move Now?

For Bruce and Emma, this isn’t just about location. Now that their kids are older, they feel it’s the perfect time to return to the glitz and glamour of Tinseltown. Emma, who’s 40, shared her thoughts on why they initially chose New York. “We wanted our kids, Mabel, who’s 6, and Evelyn, who’s 4, to have plenty of space to play and grow. We also wanted to keep them as sheltered as possible from the paparazzi. That’s something that’s still a big deal in LA,” she told Elle Decor in a previous interview. The couple found the perfect balance in New York, with its proximity to the city but the peacefulness of their upstate home.

The Ups and Downs of Moving

Emma admitted that while LA has its challenges, New York provided a more peaceful environment for raising their children. “It’s not bad in New York, and where we live, it’s practically zero. The beauty of it is that it’s close enough to the city, so we really had the best of both worlds,” she said. But change is inevitable, and even their youngest daughter, Mabel, is feeling the emotions. Bruce shared a heartwarming story about Mabel’s wish to send the house to California with balloons, just like in the movie Up. “I wish we could do that,” Bruce joked. “It would be perfect.”

    Leaving Behind a Dream Home

So, what’s the couple leaving behind? It’s no ordinary house—it’s a 9,000-square-foot, three-story main house, complete with four separate homes on the estate’s grounds. And it’s not just the location that makes this property so special. The house is a masterpiece, boasting five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen, a fitness room with cork floors, a massive children’s playroom, and a wine cellar that can hold 1,500 bottles. Outside, there’s a fenced tennis court, a 50-foot swimming pool, and a spa with a cabana. Plus, there are three detached residences on the 23-acre property, including a charming three-bedroom farmhouse.

But all this luxury comes with a price tag. Ann Cutbill Lenane of Douglas Elliman, one of the couple’s listing agents, told the Wall Street Journal that the property is listed for a staggering $12.95 million. That’s a pretty penny, but considering the amenities, it might just be worth it for the right buyer.

    A Year of Change

This isn’t the first time the couple has shaken things up in the past year. In October 2018, Bruce and Emma sold their Sun Valley, Idaho mountain residence for $5.5 million after it spent seven years on and off the market. They also traded their 6,000-square-foot Central Park West duplex for $17.75 million and purchased a 3,000-square-foot condo near Lincoln Center for around $7.9 million, according to Variety. It seems like the Willis family is on a mission to simplify and focus on what truly matters—family and happiness.

We wish Bruce, Emma, and their kids all the best as they embark on this new chapter in California. Here’s hoping they find a place that feels just as magical as the one they’re leaving behind!
