Just recently, he surprised his wife, Vanessa, and their kids—Leila, 12, and Lucas, 15—with an unforgettable dream vacation in Southeast Asia. But that's not all. But let’s rewind a bit. Life hasn’t always been a smooth ride for Cameron. Growing up in Sarnia, Canada, he faced a significant health challenge early on when he was diagnosed with Legg-Perthes disease, a condition that affects the hip joint and limits movement.

Cameron opened up about his early struggles: "My mom, a nurse, noticed something off when I was just 2-and-a-half. I was kind of hobbling around. That’s when she realized something was wrong. For over four years, I had to sleep and walk with a leg brace and crutches. If she hadn’t caught it in time, I could’ve been walking funny for my entire life."

But here’s the thing—Cameron didn’t let those early trials hold him back. In fact, they inspired him to aim higher. "When you become a dad, this little stranger becomes the most important thing in your world," he shared with Closer. "You realize how fulfilling it is to put others before yourself." Ready for more? From All My Children to Home & Family: How Did It Happen?

Here’s the truth: Cameron’s career is filled with achievements he never thought possible. He started out as a new actor living in Toronto. One weekend, he went down to New York, hung out with friends, and decided to try out for an audition. Guess what? He booked a role on All My Children. "Another dream was working on Good Morning America and Entertainment Tonight. When I actually did it, it felt like a massive milestone," he recalled.

A Magical Memory From the Soap

Here’s one of Cameron’s favorite memories: "It was December 15, 1997. I’d just started the show and had only a few days before the Christmas break. I remember the magic of having my first job in New York City, on this iconic soap opera. It was Christmas, there was snow on the ground—it was just this overwhelming sense of joy and gratitude."

From Engineering to Acting: How Did That Happen?

Now, here’s the twist. Cameron actually has a degree in engineering. How did he end up acting? "It’s kind of bizarre," he admitted. "I worked summers during my studies, running a fence and deck company with my brother. Then one day, I met someone at a bar who said, ‘You should try modeling. Here’s my agent’s number.’ That led to commercials, acting classes, and eventually landing All My Children."
