Hey there, friends. It's been a while since we last visited the world of Tony Soprano, but it looks like the iconic HBO series, The Sopranos, is back in the spotlight. With news of a prequel movie set to start filming in March, fans are buzzing with excitement. But let’s not forget the man who brought Tony Soprano to life: James Gandolfini. Tragically, James passed away in June 2013 at the age of 51 from a heart attack, just six years after The Sopranos wrapped in June 2007. However, his legacy continues not only through his incredible performances but also through his children, who carry forward his spirit and talent.
James was a proud father to two children. His eldest, Michael, now 19, was born in 2000. Michael’s mother, Marcy Wudarski, was married to James from 1999 to 2002. In 2012, James welcomed his daughter, Liliana, with his second wife, Deborah Lin. Recently, the spotlight has been on Michael, as he made a public appearance in NYC on January 9, 2019, for The Sopranos 20th Anniversary Panel Discussion at the SVA Theater. In the new pictures, it's clear as day that Michael looks just like his late father. It's a touching reminder of James' enduring presence.
Michael was one of the special guests at the event, alongside many of the show’s cast members, including Steven Van Zandt, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Michael Imperioli, Robert Iler, and Edie Falco. Series creator David Chase was also present to reflect on the show's impact and legacy. It was a heartfelt gathering, bringing together fans and cast members alike to celebrate a show that left an indelible mark on television history.

At the event, David Chase shared some memorable thoughts. “I saw a picture of myself in the newspaper,” David recalled, according to Variety. “And I thought, 20 years. Jesus Christ. People come up to me, and they say, thank you for the show, we really loved it, except for that ending.” Michael, who wasn’t even born when the series aired its first episode, has followed in his father's footsteps by pursuing acting. Most notably, he played Joey Dwyer on HBO's The Deuce, proving that James' talent has been passed down to the next generation.
