There's something truly magical about receiving a Golden Globe nomination, isn't there? For most celebrities, it's a moment filled with joy, excitement, and maybe even a little disbelief. But for Patricia Clarkson, this special occasion wasn't surrounded by a big crowd of cheering friends and family. Instead, it was a much quieter, yet no less meaningful, celebration.
At the age of 59, Patricia Clarkson found herself in a unique situation when she learned she had been nominated for a Golden Globe. During the 6th Annual “Gold Meets Golden” brunch in Hollywood—an event that brings together celebrities, athletes, and Olympians—Patricia was asked about the moment she discovered her nomination. “Where was I? I was home in bed with my dog,” Patricia revealed to Closer magazine. Now, while we don't know if her furry companion offered any congratulatory barks, we're pretty sure the dog was thrilled to have such a successful human by its side.
Patricia's joy wasn't just limited to the nomination. Her dog must have been jumping for joy when Patricia took home the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television for her outstanding work on Sharp Objects on January 6th. In the series, Patricia plays Camille Preaker, the mother of Amy Adams' character, and her performance was nothing short of extraordinary.

During her acceptance speech, Patricia began with a heartfelt, "Hot damn," before expressing her gratitude for being part of such a prestigious event. She dedicated her win to her parents, saying, “This really is for my extraordinary mother and father. And I share this with you mom and dad, in New Orleans. Cheers!” Her words were a touching tribute to those who have supported her throughout her career.
Before the awards ceremony, Patricia had already thought about how she would celebrate if she and Amy, who was also nominated for her role in the HBO show, won. "If Amy and I, oh we’ll have lots of wine," Patricia joked. It seems that the celebration was indeed filled with plenty of wine, laughter, and joy. Who could blame them? Winning a Golden Globe is a moment worth celebrating, and Patricia and Amy certainly knew how to do it right.
