Listen up, folks! Gwyneth Paltrow just redefined what it means to have a honeymoon. Forget the romantic getaway for two—this one was a full-on family affair. During an appearance on Live! With Kelly and Ryan, the Iron Man star revealed that she and her new husband, Brad Falchuk, decided to turn their post-wedding trip into a family vacation. And guess what? They weren’t shy about including some familiar faces.
“We just took our honeymoon in the Maldives, and we had a big family honeymoon over Christmas,” Gwyneth told Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest. She went on to explain, “So, my new husband and his children, my children, my ex-husband, our best family friends—all of us went. It was a very modern honeymoon.” Talk about setting a new standard for post-wedding celebrations!
Walking into the new year with a lot of gratitude for all of the wonderful moments of 2018, lessons and joys alike. Wishing each and every one of you a truly magnificent, happy 2019. 💙

Kelly Ripa, visibly taken aback, couldn’t help but ask, “Wait, your ex-husband went on your honeymoon?” referring, of course, to Coldplay singer Chris Martin. With a smile, Gwyneth simply replied, “Yeah, pretty much.” Now, that’s what I call embracing modern relationships. Even Ryan Seacrest, clearly surprised by the unusual family dynamic, joined in with his own questions.
When asked about what dinner conversations were like during the trip, Gwyneth said, “Oh, just great conversation and lots of kids. You know what? It was great. We had such a good time.” Sounds like the kind of trip that redefines family bonding, doesn’t it?
Now, if you’re thinking this kind of setup is a one-off, think again. Gwyneth and Chris have been known to blur the lines between traditional family dynamics and modern approaches. Back in November 2018, the pair, along with Brad Falchuk and Chris’s new flame, Dakota Johnson, reportedly spent Thanksgiving together with their kids, Apple Martin, 14, and Moses Martin, 12. According to an insider, “They’re a total modern family and had a great time celebrating together.”
