Hey there, friends. So, you probably heard that Wendy Williams was supposed to be back on our screens on Monday, January 21, but guess what? That's been postponed yet again. Why? Well, Wendy’s dealing with some health issues, and we all know how important it is to prioritize that. Right?
Let’s break it down. The 54-year-old’s family took to Twitter on Friday, January 18, to fill us in on what’s going on with Wendy and her show. Here’s the scoop: Wendy fractured her shoulder a little while back, and she’s been recovering. But then, complications arose related to her Graves’ Disease—a condition that affects the thyroid. This requires some serious medical attention.
According to the family's tweet, Wendy is now under the close watch of her doctors and will be spending considerable time in the hospital. Despite her fierce desire to return to the show, she's decided to take an extended break to focus on her overall health. Wendy’s family thanked everyone for their well-wishes and asked for privacy during this time.

Debmar-Mercury, the team behind Wendy’s daytime talk show, fully supports her decision to step back for now. They said, “We wholeheartedly support Wendy in this decision to take the time she needs and we will welcome her back with open arms the moment she is ready.” Now, here’s the plan: The show will air repeats next week and will then continue with a variety of guest hosts starting January 28. Sounds like Wendy might be off the air for a bit while she gets herself back to her usual vibrant self.
This isn’t the first time Wendy has faced health challenges. Back in 2017, she gave everyone quite a scare when she passed out live on-air in front of her studio audience. After a commercial break, she reassured everyone, saying, “That was not a stunt. I overheated in my costume … I did pass out. But you know what? I’m a champ and I’m back.” That’s Wendy for you—always ready to bounce back with her signature charm and resilience.
Our thoughts are with Wendy during this time. We hope she gets the rest and care she needs to make a full recovery and return to the show we all love. She’s got this!
