Mario explained that he and Courtney, who is 36, had been trying for some time to conceive another child. “If it didn’t happen, we were okay with it. We believed it wasn’t part of God’s plan, and we already had one of each,” he said, referring to their two older kids, Gia Lopez, 8, and Dominic Lopez, 5. But then, as fate would have it, they were in for a surprise. “But it got in there! It snuck in, towards the end, so a bit of a Christmas miracle,” Mario added with a laugh, clearly overjoyed about the unexpected yet delightful addition to their family.

How the Kids Are Reacting

Of course, Mario and Courtney’s kids, Gia and Nico, are just as excited about the arrival of their new sibling. But at first, they were a little confused. “At first, they were like, ‘Wait, what?’ They couldn’t understand. It took a second for it to register,” Mario said. And while his daughter, Gia, is excited, she does have one request—no more brothers. “My daughter got very dramatic. She was like, ‘If I have another brother, I’m telling you right now, I’m moving to Texas!’” Mario joked, sharing the sweet and funny reaction.

Mario’s Perspective on the Baby’s Gender

Mario, on the other hand, isn’t too concerned about whether the new baby is a boy or a girl. His primary focus is ensuring that Courtney has a smooth and healthy pregnancy. “It doesn’t matter, to be honest, as long as it’s healthy. We’re just very excited,” he gushed. The couple has decided to keep the gender reveal a surprise until the baby is born, making the big day even more special. “The gender reveal will be when it’s born!” Mario added with a grin.
