It’s hard to fathom that Julie Chen is no longer sitting alongside Eve, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, and Sara Gilbert on The Talk. For eight years, Julie was an integral part of the Emmy-winning CBS series, and her decision to step away in September 2018 left her co-stars deeply affected. At 49 years old, Julie made the tough call to leave the daytime show to spend more time with her family, and no one felt the absence more acutely than Sheryl, who has been on the show since its second season in 2011.
“I really do miss her,” Sheryl revealed exclusively to Closer Weekly during an interview on Monday, January 14, while promoting Metamucil’s Two-Week Challenge as part of her new partnership with the brand. “I’ve been friends with Julie Chen since I joined the show, and I love her and respect her deeply,” she added with genuine emotion.
Sheryl admitted that watching her longtime friend leave the show was a difficult pill to swallow. But at the same time, she understood and respected Julie's decision. “We as women need to support each other, even when it means stepping back and giving them space,” she explained. “You know what I’m saying? Sometimes the best way to support someone is to let them figure things out on their own terms, but still be there when they need you.”

As a radio host, Sheryl shared her wisdom on friendship, emphasizing that sometimes the best way to support a friend during a challenging time is to give them some breathing room. “You know, a lot of people want to be all up in your business, but that’s not how real friendship works,” Sheryl said. “If you’re truly a friend, you’re there when they need you, and you’re ready to lend a hand when they ask for it.”
Sheryl went on to express how much she misses Julie's tireless work ethic. “She always had this incredible ability to juggle multiple tasks at once,” Sheryl recalled fondly. “It’s something I’ve admired about her for years, and it’s
