When Alec Baldwin found himself in hot water back in November for an alleged altercation involving a parking spot, his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, sprang into action. The mother of four took it upon herself to help her husband manage his fiery temper, proving that even stars like Alec need a little help now and then. Her approach? A mix of mindfulness and deep breathing, which she’s incorporated into their daily lives.
On a recent appearance on Good Day New York, Hilaria opened up about their home routine to host Rosanna Scotto. “We’ve been doing a lot of deep breathing and namaste work at home,” Hilaria shared. She asked Rosanna, “Have you ever gotten upset about a parking space?” before explaining her efforts to help the Saturday Night Live star channel his emotions more constructively. It’s clear that Hilaria sees this not just as a solution to one incident but as a way to support Alec in the long run.
Hilaria isn’t just focused on helping Alec with his temper; she also spoke about the balance they strive for in their relationship. “There’s probably a yin and yang to it, right?” she explained. “There are places where he definitely makes me a better person and gives me perspective, and there’s definitely ways where I give him perspective.” It’s clear that they both play crucial roles in each other’s lives, supporting one another in unique ways.

Perhaps part of their motivation stems from their desire to be the best versions of themselves for their children. Together, Alec, 60, and Hilaria, 34, have four beautiful kids: Carmen, 5, Rafael, 3, Leonardo, 2, and baby Romeo, who’s just six months old. For these little ones, Hilaria is not only mama but also “the boss,” as she revealed in a May interview with Hola! magazine. She shared insights into her parenting style and the dynamics within their family, proving that even celebrities face the same challenges as any other parent.

When it comes to running the household, Hilaria is clearly in charge. “I am the boss at home, and everybody knows that,” she proudly stated. “They call me that. You ask them, ‘Who is the boss?’ and they’ll say, ‘Mommy is the boss.’” Hilaria credits Alec for allowing her to take the lead, acknowledging that it works well with their personalities. “Alec lets me be the alpha parent, which is definitely our personalities and it works well.”
While Alec might not always get the credit, he seems to have accepted his role in the family dynamic. In an interview with People earlier this year, Alec admitted that his kids have a clear favorite. “Being a father can be very challenging because kids are obsessed with their mothers,” he joked. “I’m in a room with my kids and I’m doing really well until my wife walks in! They just dump me.” Looks like Hilaria may indeed be the one who brings balance and harmony to the Baldwin household.
