Candace Cameron Bure Takes A Social Media Break For The Holidays

Why Candace Cameron Bure Is Taking a Social Media Hiatus

Let’s face it—social media can be a double-edged sword. It connects us to the world but can also leave us feeling overwhelmed. That’s why Fuller House star Candace Cameron Bure, 42, has decided to step away from the online noise this holiday season. In a heartfelt Instagram video posted on December 23, Candace announced her decision to take a well-deserved break from platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. She hopes this time away will help her refocus on what truly matters in life.

In her caption, Candace explained, “I’m taking a social media break for a few weeks to enjoy my family and friends over the holidays and be my most productive without the constant tug in the back of my mind wondering what everyone else is doing, what I should post next, and how to find the best light to do it.” She added with a laugh, “It’s kind of funny when you think about it, isn’t it?” Beyond just enjoying some quiet time, Candace also wants to use this opportunity to keep Christ at the center of Christmas. Now that’s what I call staying grounded during the holiday rush!

Who Inspired Candace’s Social Media Break?

Candace isn’t the only one stepping away from the digital world this holiday season. She credits her fellow actress and friend, Danica McKellar, for sparking the idea. On the same day Candace shared her video, Danica, 43, announced her own three-week social media hiatus. Unlike Candace, however, Danica makes this a yearly tradition. She finds these breaks essential for maintaining balance in her life.

“I’ll be offline to spend quality time with my family… and maybe get some focused time to work on my next @mckellarmath book, too,” Danica wrote in her Instagram post. She emphasized the importance of unplugging from time to time. “As much as I LOVE being online with everyone, I value these breaks—and I recommend them, too! Unplugging is so good for the soul and for our relationships with family—especially our kids… even ourselves.” Danica ended her message with warm wishes: “MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR! I’ll see you guys mid-January!”

❤ Merry… Social Media Break! ❤ Yep, it's time for my yearly 3-week social media break. 🙏 I'll really miss interacting with you all! But starting *tomorrow,* I'll be offline to spend quality time with my family… and maybe get some focused time to work on my next @mckellarmath book, too. 😋 As much as I LOVE being online with everyone, I value these breaks – and I recommend them, too! Unplugging from time to time is so good for the soul and for our relationships with family – especially our kids… even ourselves. 🙂 So, MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR! I'll see you guys mid-January! And… maybe consider unplugging yourself for part of that time? You might be surprised at what you learn, how you feel… and how you end up spending all that extra time you suddenly have. 😉 . . . #unplug #unwind #bepresent #behappy #socialmediabreak #socialmediahiatus #merrychristmas #happyholidays #happynewyear #hugs
