Let’s talk about Nicole Kidman’s parenting moment that’s making waves. Her 10-year-old daughter, Sunday, politely declined when Nicole offered to place one of her Big Little Lies Emmy trophies in her room. Nicole, a powerhouse actress, took home two awards—one for producing and another for acting in the hit HBO series. During her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, she hilariously recounted how her kids weren’t exactly thrilled about displaying Mom’s accolades.
Now, here’s the story straight from Nicole’s mouth: “When I won the Emmy for Big Little Lies, I thought it’d be a great idea to put one trophy on Sunday’s shelf and another on Faith’s shelf,” she shared. Nicole had everything planned out, but her daughters—Sunday, who’s 10, and Faith, who’s 7—had other ideas. Sunday flat-out said, “Oh, I want to earn my own!” Nicole couldn’t help but respond with pride, “You go, girl!” Her little one’s determination clearly left an impression.
When Nicole, now 51, won those two Emmys for BLL, it was a career-defining moment for her. She even mentioned her family during her heartfelt acceptance speech: “I’m also a mother and wife. I have two little girls, Sunny and Faith, and my darling Keith [Urban], who support me in pursuing this artistic path. They sacrifice so much for it.”

She joked that she wanted her daughters to have the trophies on their shelves, reminding them every time they saw it: “Every time my mama didn’t put me to bed, it’s because of this! I got something!” But, as it turns out, Sunday and Faith weren’t too keen on carrying the torch for Mom’s achievements—at least not yet. Still, Nicole can proudly share that her daughters will make a cameo appearance in Season 2 of BLL.

Nicole’s co-star Zoe Kravitz chimed in on the family dynamics during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “Yeah, they’re around a lot, and sometimes I can’t tell if they’re actually in a scene or just hanging out,” she said with a laugh. “But they’re so sweet and really, really smart. You can tell they were raised by Nicole.” It seems like the Kidman household is full of talent, ambition, and plenty of love.
