Hold onto your hats, folks! On Tuesday, Jan. 8, Marie Osmond made a surprising appearance on "Watch What Happens Live" with the one and only Andy Cohen. During the show, she dropped some news that might leave fans with a lump in their throats. It seems like Marie and her brother, Donny Osmond, are seriously considering retiring this year. Say it ain't so!
When a fan asked when the legendary siblings would be waving goodbye to their long-running Las Vegas residency, Marie didn't mince words. "You know, we say it’s every year, and then we do another year," she admitted. For over a decade—yes, 11 years to be exact—they've been gracing the stages of Sin City with their incredible performances. But now, it seems like the clock is ticking. "We're just thinking maybe this year, but I don't know, Donny is getting old," she joked, eliciting laughter from the audience.
At 59 years young, Marie confessed that performing in Vegas is "really fun," but she also acknowledged that 2019 could very well be the final curtain call for the duo. Andy Cohen reminded her that Donny, who's 61, had mentioned this possibility in a previous interview. "Donny has said that many years," she confessed. "Honestly, we are thinking this year. We were supposed to be there for six weeks, but somehow it turned into 11 years!"

Now, before you start planning a retirement party, let's not get ahead of ourselves. In a recent chat with Closer Weekly, Marie hinted that there might be more in store for her beyond the glitz and glamour of Vegas. She revealed that she's been offered some pretty exciting opportunities, including roles in movies and even Broadway shows. However, nothing gets her as excited as her partnership with Nutrisystem. Why, you ask? Because it's truly changed her life.
Marie explained, "People always ask me why I’m so passionate about Nutrisystem, and it’s because it has genuinely transformed my life. Without their help, I wouldn’t have been able to shed 50 pounds. That weight loss has opened so many doors for me. I can wear the clothes I want, dance like never before, and sing my heart out in Vegas." She added, "In our show, I perform everything from country to opera. You simply can't do those kinds of things with extra weight holding you back." Her dedication to her health has clearly paid off, both personally and professionally.
Meanwhile, Donny is keeping busy as well. On Jan. 7, he revealed that he's diving headfirst into his 62nd album. In a message to his fans, he wrote, "I’m excited to let you in on a little secret. I’ve officially started working on my 62nd album! I’ll keep you posted throughout the year as I continue creating it, but I have a feeling you’re going to love it." Fans are already buzzing with anticipation, eagerly waiting to hear what new sounds Donny will bring to the table.
So, what does the future hold for these iconic siblings? Only time will tell. Whether it's retirement, new ventures, or both, one thing's for sure—Marie and Donny Osmond will always have a special place in the hearts of their fans. Here's to whatever comes next!
